AutoFont Support files provide automatic support of font products in
applications that support AutoFont. HP encourages Software developers to
implement TFM Readers.
AutoFont Support files (TFM) are substituting the Spacing Tables.
Spacing Tables won't be distributed any longer.
To decompress type files containing TFM files uses the -d option of PKZIP
For instance: ATOZ -d
Be careful NOT TO FORGET the -d option. It is used to create the necessary
directories.
Once you have decompressed all the files, proceed as follows (this assumes
that you've copied the decompressed files to a floppy):
1. find a blank floppy
2. Copy the AUTOFONT.EXE program to the floppy in the root directory
3. Place the disk with the TFMs for the cartridge you want into the other
floppy drive.
4. Change the directories to the cartridge you want.
5. Copy the AFS.0 file to the root directory of the disk containing the
AUTOFONT.EXE program
6. Make a directory called AUTOFONT on the disk containing the AUTOFONT.EXE
program.
7. Copy the remaining files in the cartridge directory to this AUTOFONT
directory on the disk containing the AUTOFONT.EXE program.
8. Go to the drive containing this new disk just made.
9. Type AutoFont
10. Answer the questions. The TFM files will be installed and the glue file
will be updated to the \AUTOFONT directory on your hard disk you have
specified
